How to Make DIY Air Fryer Parchment Liners
- Tear off a sheet: Start with a rectangular piece of parchment paper large enough to fit the bottom of your air fryer basket.
- Fold in half: Crease the paper to create a guideline for cutting.
- Cut to size: Trim the parchment so it fits your basket without excessive overhang.
- Make a small supply: Repeat with several sheets so you have liners ready whenever you need them.
Don't worry if your liners aren't perfectly square! Trim any pieces that are too large or could interfere with airflow or come into contact with the heating element.
A little parchment curling up the sides of the basket may be fine, provided it stays safely below the basket's upper edge and away from the heating element.
A Few Helpful Tips
- Save time: Make several liners at once and keep them together for easy access.
- Use parchment safely: Always place food on top of the parchment to weigh it down. Never put loose parchment in an empty air fryer or use it during preheating.
- Check your air fryer manual: Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding parchment paper, basket liners, and airflow.
- Lift with care: I sometimes use parchment to help lift out a cooked batch of food. Just be careful—the basket and surrounding surfaces can be extremely hot!
